Understanding Your Septic System Installation

Step 1: Determining the Right Septic System for Your Property

The size of your septic system is based on:

  • The living square footage of your home or structure
  • The number of bedrooms
  • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations dictate the system size requirements

Step 2: Property Walk-Through & System Placement

Before any work begins, we conduct a detailed walk-through of your property with you or your representative.

  • We determine the most logical placement for:

                    The septic tank

The lateral field (for conventional systems) or spray field (for aerobic systems)

  • All placements must comply with TCEQ setback requirements to ensure proper installation. We offer customized organizational change management solutions that will help you navigate complex changes and achieve your business goals.

Step 3: Soil Testing & System Type Selection

  • We dig test holes in multiple locations to assess soil composition.
  • The test determines whether a conventional or aerobic system is required.
  • Hamilton County soil consists of sand, silt, clay, and rock—the percentages of these in your soil will dictate the system type.
  • This evaluation follows TCEQ standards to ensure proper wastewater treatment.

Step 4: Consultation & System Design

After soil testing, we contact you to:

  • Explain our findings
  • Answer any questions
  • Consider any input you have before moving forward

Our licensed Registered Sanitarian (septic engineer) then designs the system for your property.

Step 5: Permitting Process

We submit the septic system design and required paperwork to the TCEQ Authorized Agent for approval.

  • Once reviewed, we receive an Authorization To Construct, allowing us to begin installation.

Step 6: Excavation & Installation

We begin excavation and install all necessary system components, which may include:

  • Septic tank
  • Pipes
  • Lateral panels
  • Rock
  • Sprinklers (for aerobic systems)

After installation, we schedule a County Inspection for approval

Step 7: Inspection & Final Cover-Up

  • Once the system passes inspection, we complete the cover-up process.
  • We take pride in restoring your property as close to its original state as possible.

Septic System Maintenance & Longevity

Your septic system is a long-term investment, just like your driveway, garage, or home.

With proper maintenance, a septic system can last 100 years or more.

  • Routine maintenance includes:
    • Pumping the tank every 2–4 years
    • Ensuring proper drainage
    • Following manufacturer and TCEQ guidelines

By choosing us for your septic installation, you are investing in a high-quality system that will serve your property for generations to come.
